I took my shoes to this guy to replace the leather soles. He "repaired" the shoes, and they fell apart in two weeks and hurt my feet. After the fourth time breaking, I took them to another cobbler, and they have been fine since. He then refused to return any part of the money saying (this is an exact quote), "If I returned your money, everyone and their brother would want a their money back." Bad service, bad craftsmanship, and bad attitude. Do not go to this cobbler.
Great experience! I had a pair of high quality older boots that had plenty of good tread left on the bottom, they were very comfortable but had some of the upper areas coming apart. It broke my heart to think about throwing them away so I considered trying to repair them with "special shoe glue" but decided that it would probably not be enough to hold up what the stitching had also held in place.
